Common Clothes Moth
Used labels unpicked from the neck of rag garments and unwanted size labels with dressmaker pins on canvas 88 w x 72cm h.
On Friday 10th February 2017 my work was exhibited as part of Light Night Nottingham in the window of Sue Ryder Vintage & Retro, 30-32 Goose Gate. I was also invited to hold an event for shop visitors to help unpick labels from rag garments; these labels could then be used to assemble a new piece of artwork. Because of the inconsistent nature of the unpicked used labels I decided to use these for the background of the canvas. Blending the colours from light to dark to create a contrast against the body of the Common Clothes Moth Tineola bisselliella.
Original SOLD, Limited Edition Giclee print available 71cm high x 58cm wide.
