‘I collect, unpick, sort, measure, re-measure, pin and re-pin’
My practice is an original fine art concept that reconfigures the woven label. The work is constantly negotiating the boundaries between the process of making (craft) and understanding life through material (fine art). I have developed my own language by unpicking garments to utilise the small label descriptions allowing individual identities to be assembled into a shared whole.
30,000 used labels have been assembled in objects and images over the past 15 years resulting in a collection of individualities that we call society.
